Doreen Joann Badtke, age 67, of Oshkosh, WI, passed away on Wednesday, November 18, 2015.
Doreen was born March 10, 1948, in Ripon, WI, the daughter of Robert and Doris (Miller) Rupnow. She graduated from Ripon High School and the State of Wisconsin Treasurers Institute. Throughout her life, she had taken numerous advanced college courses involved with nursing, information technology, and German. On September 10, 1966, Doreen married Tom Badtke in Ripon, WI. With her aptitude to quickly learn and a keen eye for detail, Doreen held a multitude of management positions throughout her career at Green Giant, Pillsbury, Friday Canning, Chiquita Processed Foods and Seneca Foods. Doreen had been the President of the Mothers’ Club at Our Saviour’s United Church of Christ in Ripon where she was also a member. Doreen was Clerk of the Township of Rosendale and later held a position for the Village of Suamico. She loved to spend time at the family’s cottage at Tuttle Lake and always kept the flowers blooming in her garden. Doreen will be remembered for her generous love and care of her children and grandchildren.
Family include her husband, Tom Badtke of Oshkosh, WI; children, Jeffrey (Jean) Badtke also of Oshkosh, WI, Matthew (Joan) Badtke of Wisconsin Rapids, WI, Kimberly (Stephan Gehrke) Badtke of Mountain View, CA, Corey (Erin) Badtke of Milton, WI; well-loved grandchildren, Erin and Andrew Badtke, Alex and Mark Badtke, Simon and Christoph Gehrke, Oliver and twins, Thomas and Alexis Badtke; sister, Donna (Zeke) Everding of Janesville, WI. Doreen is further survived by many nieces, nephews, and cousins. She is preceded in death by her parents, Robert and Doris Rupnow and her son, Jeffrey Tom Badtke.
Visitation for Doreen Joann Badtke will be held on Friday, November 27, 2015, from 4 – 7:00 p.m. at Butzin-Marchant Funeral Home, 515 Mayparty Dr., Ripon, WI 54971 and again on Saturday, November 28, 2015, from 10 – 11:00 a.m. at Our Saviour’s United Church of Christ, 343 Scott St., Ripon, WI 54971.
Memorial Service for Doreen Joann Badtke will be held on Saturday, November 28, 2015, at 11:00 a.m. at Our Saviour’s United Church of Christ in Ripon. Reverend Dr. Kevin P. Mundell will officiate. Inurnment will take place at Sacred Heart Cemetery in Oshkosh, WI, at a later date. A memorial is being established.
