Doris B. Davy, age 77, formerly of Green Lake, died Thursday, September 21, 2000, at the Fountains Nursing Home in Marion, IL.
She was born January 23, 1923, in Ortonville, MN, a daughter to William and Clara (Smith) Barsema. She married Harold J. “Jim” Davy on October 20, 1947 in Cary, IL. Doris was a retired accountant at Jewel Tea Company in Barrington, IL for over 40 years.
Survivors include a sister, Joyce Hunt of Albany, OR; son and daughter-in-law, William and Deborah Davy of Marion, IL; a daughter and son-in-law, Nancy and Mark Young of Huntley, IL; six grandchildren, Heather (Tony) Travelstead, Bill Davy, James Young, Lindsay (Scott) Groseclose, Julie (Josh) Harris, and Jonathan Young; and three great-grandchildren, Tyler and Jordan Travelstead and Jacob Groseclose. She was preceded in death by her husband on April 20, 1995, and one son, James A. Davy on May 11, 1999.
Visitation will be Sunday, September 24, 2000 from 12:00 to 2:00 pm at Butzin-Marchant Funeral Home in Ripon. A graveside service will follow at Bluffton Cemetery in the Town of Brooklyn with Pastor Eric Burnard officiating.
