Doris E. Stracy

Doris E. Stracy, age 89, of Ripon, WI passed away on Monday, July 3, 2023 at Maplecrest Manor in Ripon with family by her side.

Doris was born August 22, 1933 to Ernest and Camille (Peterson) Bengston in Luck, WI. She graduated Ripon High School and worked at Ripon Foods for 33 years. On July 11, 1953 Doris married Charles Stracy at Fort Chaffee, Arkansas. Their marriage was blessed with 6 children. 

She cherished spending time with her family. She also enjoyed gambling, traveling, bowling, knitting and crocheting. Many family members and friends were gifted her crocheted works of art. She donated knitted mittens to schools and churches to keep everyone warm. She loved traveling with her husband, Charles, until his passing on December 20, 2001. Doris was a member of Our Saviour’s United Church of Christ, Ripon.

Doris is survived by her children, Kathie (Dan) Norton of Oshkosh, WI, Randy (Karen) Stracy of Florence, CO, Karen (Jim) Kotlowski, of Ripon, WI, Russell (Vicki) Stracy of Ripon, WI; 11 grandchildren, 26 great-grandchildren, 1 great-great-grandchild, and many nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents; sister, Dorthy Waters; loving husband, Charles Stracy; son, Ron Stracy; daughter, Karyl VanGorder; granddaughter, Krisann Stracy; brother-in-law, Don (Doris M) Stracy; sister-in-law, Mary Weiland; and 2 great-grandchildren. 

A visitation for Doris will be held Monday, July 17, 2023, from 10:00 am-11:30 am at Our Saviour’s United Church of Christ, 343 Scott St, Ripon, WI.

Funeral service for Doris will be held Monday, July 17, 2023, at Our Saviour’s United Church of Christ at 11:30 am, with Rev. Dr. Kevin P. Mundell officiating. Interment will follow at Woodlawn Cemetery. A memorial is being established in her name.
