Doris C. Smith, age 88, of 926 Newbury St., Ripon, passed away Sunday, March 4th 2007, at the Markesan Resident home.
She was born June 5th, 1918, in the town of Metomen, to Otto and Rose Tavs. She graduated from Brandon High School and attended the University of Wisconsin Oshkosh. She was a teacher for Ripon area schools. On April 19th, 1941 she married Roy A. Smith in Ripon, Wisconsin. She was a member or the Immannel United Methodist Church, in Ripon, and belonged to the WREA, (Wisconsin Retired Educators Association)
Survivors include one son Gary (Suzanne) Smith of South Barrington, IL; one Grandson, Jason Smith of Torrance, CA. and Nieces and Nephews. Doris was preceded in death by her husband, Roy, her sister, Lois Zimdars, and brother, Lowell Tavs.
Visitation for Doris will be Sunday, March 11th, 2007 at the Butzin-Marchant Funeral Home, from 4-7pm, and also on Monday, March 12th, 2007 from 10 a.m. till 11 a.m at Immanuel United Methodist Church.
Funeral Service for Doris will be Monday, March 12th, 2007 at 11:00 a.m. at Immanuel United Methodist Church with Pastor Paul Nulton officiating. Interment will take place at Brandon Cemetery, Brandon.
