Dorothy Alma Anklam, age 88, of Hwy 44, Village of Pickett, died Friday morning, January 24, 2003, at Ripon Medical Center in Ripon.
She was born September 1, 1914, in Pickett, the daughter of Frederick and Leona (Tetzlaff) Kaiser. Dorothy was educated in Pickett, graduated from Ripon High School and received a Bachelors Degree from Oshkosh State College. Until retiring, Dorothy taught grade school at Alice Callan in Ripon, and was a member of the Ripon Teachers Association. Dorothy had lived in Pickett all her life. She was a member of Grace Lutheran Church, the Ladies Aid, and for many years had been the church organist. Dorothy was a member of the Pickett Senior Center, and enjoyed going to the Fireside Theater. On March 18, 1944, she married Herbert Albert Anklam, and he passed away on July 4, 1970.
Survivors include one sister, Lorraine Hansen of Pickett; two nieces, Pat (Dennis) Schaetzka of Pickett and Sharon Youell of Winnipeg, Canada; sisters-in-law; great-nieces & nephews; and great-great-nieces & nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; and one brother-in-law, Eugene Bud Hansen.
Funeral service for Dorothy A. Anklam will be at 2 p.m. on Monday, January 27, 2003, at Grace Lutheran Church, Pickett with Pastor Russell W. Kloehn officiating. Visitation will be Monday from 1-2 p.m. at the church. Interment will be in Liberty Prairie Cemetery, Pickett. A memorial has been established.
