Dorothy H. Burr, age 83, of Route 2, Ripon, WI, died Sunday, December 28, 1986, at Rochester Methodist Hospital in Rochester, Minnesota.
She was born March 22, 1903, in Ripon, to August and Anna (Wallschlaeger) Hoffman. She was a 1926 graduate of Ripon College and taught at the Adams School in Ripon until her marriage to Lester J. Burr on August 5, 1930. Mrs. Burr belonged to the Ripon Historical Society, the South Woods Park Association, Pilgrim Rebekah Lodge and the Friends of the Ripon Public Library.
Survivors include one son, John R. Burr of Oshkosh; one daughter, Charlotte A. Burr of Ripon; two grandsons, Michael and Christopher Burr and one granddaughter, Kara Burr. She was preceded in death by her husband, and two half-sisters, Mary Ann Eckstein and Margaret Morris.
Private graveside service will be held. Burial will take place in Hillside Cemetery in Ripon. The family requests no flowers. A memorial has been established.
