Dorothy Diedrich, age 91, of Oshkosh, WI, was born into eternal life on April 14, 2001, at Mercy Medical Center.
Dorothy was born March 15, 1910, in Ripon, a daughter to Marie (Schwandt) and John (Jay) Hill. She attended Ripon schools and married Floyd A. Diedrich on April 27, 1927, in Fond du Lac. Dorothy was a lifelong member of the Ripon Historical Society, past member of Grace Lutheran Church, Ripon, and present member of First English Church of Oshkosh. She was employed as a clerk at IGA Grocery and also Gehrke Paint Store in Ripon. Dorothy also spent time volunteering. For nine years she helped silk screen or print the famous Heritage Prints of Ripon. She was also a Sunday school teacher and a desk volunteer at the Ripon Senior Center for ten years.
Dorothy is survived by one daughter, Joanne Schroeder of Oshkosh; one son, Donald (Connie) Diedrich of Oshkosh; one sister, Ruth (Roger) Wetzel of Ripon; one brother, Harold (Dorothy) Hill of Waukesha. Also survived by grandchildren, Daniel Diedrich of TX, Donovan (Tanya) Diedrich of TX, Kimberly Diedrich of Oshkosh, Lisa (Michael) Smith of Oshkosh, Peter A. Schroeder of Oshkosh, Barbara (Bruce) Bohn of Omro and Jean (Larry) Davis of Oshkosh. She is further survived by eleven great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandson. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Floyd; one brother, John and one son-in-law, Ralph Schroeder.
Friends may call on Tuesday, April 17, 2001, from 4:00 pm until 6:00 pm with services starting at 6:00 pm all at Butzin-Marchant Funeral Home in Ripon. Reverend Neil Wilson will be officiating. Interment will take place at Woodlawn Cemetery in Ripon. A memorial has been established.
