Dorothy Quick

Dorothy M. Quick, age 91, of Green Lake, passed away on Tuesday, October 14, 2008, at Ripon Medical Center, Ripon.

Dorothy was born in Princeton on April 17, 1917, the daughter of Andrew and Magdaline (Sina) Dalka. She attended Princeton schools, and on April 6, 1941 she married Russell Quick. Dorothy was a member of the Federated Church of Green Lake, the American Legion Auxiliary, and the Homemakers Club. For several years she worked in the kitchen at the Green Lake Public schools and enjoyed meeting the children there. She grew and arranged flowers for the Federated Church in Green Lake and also enjoyed taking flowers to friends and those who were shut-in. But her greatest joy was spending time with her children and grandchildren.

Survivors include two sons, James (Ginger) Quick of Green Lake, WI; and Robert Quick of Roscoe, IL; four granddaughters, Jamie (Jim) Luchinski of Berlin, WI; Ginette (Dan) Wolf of Ripon, WI; Amy (Randy) Stein of Rockford, IL; and Ann Ortiz of Roscoe, IL; two grandsons, Jesse (Bobbie) Quick of Oshkosh, WI; and Robert Quick Jr. of IL; eight great-grandchildren, one sister-in-law, Irene Ilgen of Madison, WI and Delores Dalka of Princeton; and several nieces and nephews. Dorothy was preceded in death by her parents; husband Russell on March 29, 2004, daughter-in-law, Nancy Quick,; brothers, Bernard Dalka, and Alex Korleski, Joe Dalka; and sister, Regina Sauerbreit, Anna Suhr, Louise Dowdell, Rose Woszy, Celia Dalka and Helen Dalka.

Visitation for Dorothy M. Quick will be held on Friday, October 17, 2008 from 10-11:00 a.m. at the Federated Church of Green Lake.

Funeral service for Dorothy M. Quick will be held on Friday, October 17, 2008 at 11:00 a.m. at the Federated Church of Green Lake, with the Reverend Karen Gygax Rodriguez officiating. Interment will follow in Dartford Cemetery, Green Lake. Memorials may be given to: The Federated Church of Green Lake or The Skin Cancer Foundation, 245 Fifth Avenue, Suite 1403, New York, NY 10016, (The Dorothy Quick Memorial Fund).
