Dorothy Rikkers

Mrs. Dorothy L. Rikkers of Ripon, passed away on Friday, February 2, 1990, at Mercy Medical Center in Oshkosh.
She was a daughter of Dr. Oliver and Myrtle Layton. She graduated from Grafton Hall and Northwestern University. Mrs. Rikkers was a member of St. Peter’s Episcopal Church in Ripon and served on its Altar Guild. She also was a member of PEO Sisterhood.
Survivors include her children, Diane Van Pelt and her husband Dirk of Fond du Lac, Winifred Rikkers of Madison, Judson Rikkers and his wife Helga of Ripon and Layton Rikkers and his wife Diane of Omaha, Nebraska; and grandchildren, Susan, George, Judson, Evelyn, Diana, David, Steven, Andrew, Kristin, Benjamin and Daniel. She was preceded in death by her husband, Judson; her sister, Winifred Booth and her brother, Howard Layton.
A memorial service will be held at 10:30 a.m., Monday, February 5, 1990, at St. Peter’s Episcopal Church in Ripon, WI. Friends may greet the family after the service. A memorial has been established for the Dorothy and Judson Rikkers Memorial Lectureship in surgery at the University of Nebraska, St. Peter’s Episcopal Church and St. Agnes Hospice Hope.
