Douglas L. Curtis, age 48, of Green Lake, WI, died Sunday, November 19, 2000, as a result of a traffic accident near Madison.
Douglas was born June 2, 1952, in Mauston, WI, a son to Lawrence and Helen (Mathews) Curtis. He graduated from Ripon High School, and in 1972, married Doreen Hilke. He served his country in the U.S. Air Force from 1971-1974. Douglas owned and operated D.L. Curtis Trucking of Green Lake, WI and Belvidere, IL. He was a member of Peace Lutheran Church of Green Lake.
Survivors include his wife Doreen, Green Lake; one daughter Stephanie Curtis, and her special friend Dave, Ripon. one son, Jason Curtis, Green Lake. one grandson, Daniel, Ripon. His parents, Lawrence and Helen Curtis, Mauston, WI. Maternal Grandmother Joy Mathews, Mauston, WI. Two brothers; Don (Sue) Curtis, Hudson, WI., and Duane Curtis, Ripon. one sister; Sharon Curtis, N.Y.N.Y. He is also survived by a sister-in-law; Darlene (David) Patchett, Green Lake; and two brother-in-laws, Duane and (Linda) Hilke, Strongsville, OH, and Daryl and (Sue) Hilke, Ripon. Also survived by nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his maternal grandfather and paternal grandfather and grand mother.
Services will be held on Wednesday, November 22, 2000, at 11:00 a.m. at Peace Lutheran Church, Green Lake. Visitation will be from 9:00 a.m. until the time of service at the church. Rev. Rodney R. Dietsche will officiate. Interment will be at Dartford Cemetery, City of Green Lake. A memorial has been established.
