Douglas Harder

Douglas L. Harder, 68, of Ripon, passed away on Sunday, July 6, 2008, at All About Life Rehabilitation Center in Fond du Lac.

Doug was born on September 17, 1939, in Ripon, the son of Lawrence and Florence Harder. He graduated from Ripon Senior High School and serves in the US Air Force from Jan. 3, 1957 to Jan. 2, 1963. Doug was a salesman for Condon Oil Company from 1969 until his retirement; after his retirement Doug went to work for Ripon Area Builders, He was a member of the V.F.W. Schultz-Klemp-Wantland Post #5278 in Ripon, and a past member of Messiah Lutheran Church in Ripon. Doug was an avid sportsman and enjoyed hunting and fishing. Doug was elected to the Ripon City Council in 2004.

Survivors include his daughters, Kim and Shelly; one brother, Richard Harder; one sister, Deanna Gehrke; one half-brother, Todd Harder; his step-mother, Pat Harder; closest to Doug were, Lisa, Ken, and Addie McNeil, Lynn Nesler and Alicia and Calvin Freid. Doug also had many friends and other extended family members. Doug’s parents preceded him in death.

Visitation for Douglas L. Harder will be held from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm on Saturday, July 12, 2008, at the Butzin-Marchant Funeral Home in Ripon.

A memorial service for Douglas L. Harder will be held at 1:00 pm on Saturday, July 12, 2008, at the Butzin-Marchant Funeral Home with The Reverend Bryan Fritsch officiating. Inurnment will be in Woodlawn Cemetery, Ripon. A memorial has been established.
