Douglas K. Jess, age 59, of Ripon, WI, passed away on Tuesday, August 18, 1987, at Door County Memorial Hospital in Sturgeon Bay.
Douglas was born September 1, 1927, in Ripon, WI, the son of Karl and Lucille (Hutchison) Jess. He graduated from Ripon High School in 1945 and attended Ripon College. Douglas served our country in the United States Navy during WWII. He worked as a salesman for Bloedel’s in Ripon. Douglas married Rosalie Rasske on June 6, 1953. He was a member of the American Legion Post #43, VFW Post 5278 Schultz-Klemp-Wentland; member of Grace Lutheran Church in Ripon, member of Ducks Unlimited and of the Ripon Pool League.
Survivors include his wife, Rosalie; one son, Lee; two daughters, Luanne “Punky” (Doug) McConnell of Ripon and Linda Jess of Ripon; two granddaughters, one brother, Eugene of Ripon and parents, Mr. and Mrs. Homer Gibson of Ripon. He was preceded in death by his father.
Visitation for Douglas will be held on Thursday, August 20, 1987, from 5 – 8:00 pm at Butzin-Marchant Funeral Home in Ripon.
Funeral Service for Douglas will be held on Friday, August 21, 1987, at 2:00 pm at Grace Lutheran Church with Reverend Carl L. Stubenvoll officiating. Interment will follow at Garden of the Cross Cemetery in Ripon.
