Douglas Reas

Douglas R. Reas, age 73, of Green Lake, WI, passed away on Saturday, November 22, 2014, at his home in Green Lake with his family by his side.

Doug was born December 3, 1940, at home in Park Falls, WI, the son of Emeron and Mae (Hatch) Reas. He graduated from Park Falls High School. Doug served our country in the United States Air Force after graduation. In 1965, Doug married Jeanette Miller at St. Anthony’s Catholic Church in Park Falls. He worked as a machinist for Omark Industries for 27 years. Doug was a volunteer fire fighter for the Prentice Fire Department and also served many terms as a member of the Prentice School Board. He was a very hard worker all his life and instilled this trait in all three of his children. Doug loved fishing, hunting, spending time with his grandchildren, watching sports and working in his yard. He was also well known for being able to fix anything and everything family, friends and neighbors brought him. Doug was a special man who will be missed everyday by his family and friends.

Survivors include his wife, Jeanette Reas of Green Lake, WI; three children, Lynn (Alyssa) Reas of Sun Prairie, WI, Lonn (Linda) Reas of Seymour, TN and Lisa (Dave) Knapp of Green Lake, WI; four grandchildren, Benjamin and Matthew Reas both of Sun Prairie, WI and James and Joshua Knapp both of Green Lake, WI; seven sisters, Violet Dillon of Park Falls, WI, Tina (Pat) Gruber of Park Falls, WI, Carol (Ronnie) Herbst of Park Falls, WI, Kathy (Bernie) Kotke of Park Falls, WI, Ramona (Charlie) Wasrud of Iola, WI, Dawn (Rick) Buboltz of De Pere, WI and Christine (Mark) Moravec of Merrill, WI; four brothers, Roger (Sharon) Reas of Butternut, WI, Perry (Betty) Reas, Larry (Judy) Reas and John Reas all of Park Falls and brother-in-law, Lawrence Hilgart of Park Falls, WI. Doug was preceded in death by his parents, Emeron and Mae; sister, Rosemary Hilgart and sister-in-law, Phyllis Reas.

Visitation for Douglas will be held on Saturday, November 29, 2014, from 10 – 11:00 am at Our Lady of the Lake Catholic Church, 530 Ruth St., Green Lake, WI 54971.

Mass of Christian Burial for Douglas will be held on Saturday, November 29, 2014, at 11:00 am at Our Lady of the Lake Catholic Church in Green Lake. Father Philip Krogman, who Doug considered a close friend will officiate.

Visitation for Douglas will be held again on Monday, December 1, 2014, from 9 – 11:00 am at St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church, 276 So. 5th Ave., Park Falls, WI 54552.

Mass of Christian Burial for Douglas will be held again on Monday, December 1, 2014, at 11:00 am at St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church in Park Falls, WI. Father Shaji Pazhukkathara will officiate. Interment will follow at Nola Cemetery in Park Falls, WI with full Military Honors. Memorials may be given to Our Lady of the Lake Catholic Church, P.O. Box 215, Green Lake, WI 54941.
