Dr. Richard W. Morse, age 43, of Ripon, WI, passed away on Tuesday, January 25, 1955, at Ripon Municipal Hospital.
Dr. Richard was born April 16, 1911, in Cleveland, Ohio, the son of Allen and Edith (McCord) Morse Sr. On June 14, 1938, he married Katherine Karnes on June 14, 1938 in Oshkosh. Dr. Richard worked as a chairman of the music department at Ripon College. He was an organizer and director of the Cleveland Singers, Rochester Polyphonic Singers and The Ripon Madrigal Singers. He was closely associated with the St. James Festival Choir in Cleveland and former first trumpeter for the Toledo Symphony.
Survivors include his wife, Katherine; four daughters, Challoner, Jocelyn, Meredith and Ginevra all of Ripon; his mother, Mrs. Edith Morse of Lakewood, Ohio; two brothers, Dr. Phillip Morse of Boston, MA, Allen Morse Jr. of San Diego, CA; two sisters, Mrs. J.A. Wood of Lyme N.H. and Mrs. George Brown of South Bend, IN. He was preceded in death by his father, Allen.
Funeral Service for Dr. Richard will be held on Friday, January 28, 1955, at 10:00 am at St. Peter's Episcopal in Ripon with The Dr. Frederick Butler officiating.
