Dr. Thomas Williams Humble, age 67, of Ripon, WI, passed away on Thursday, January 23, 1992, at St. Lukes Hospital in Milwaukee.
He was born January 3, 1925, in Chicago, a son to Thomas and Ester (Eichsteadt) Humble Sr. He graduated from the University of Illinois, School of Dentistry in 1948. He taught Crown and Bridge at the University of Illinois for several years. He then held the rank of 1st Lt. in the United States Air Force where his duty assignment was dental officer. From 1948 until 1976, he practiced dentistry in Chicago and Homewood, IL. He as a captain on the Flossmoor Fire Department. He was elected to the office village trustee in Flossmoor in 1966, and served until 1976. He was an entrepreneur who owned et Cetera and The Attic Tea Room in Homewood. He also founded stores in the Watertown Place in Chicago.
Dr. Humble has resided in Ripon since 1987. For several years he was a volunteer at both the E.A.A. in Oshkosh and at Ripon Memorial Hospital.
He is survived by three daughters, Linda Dobrowits of Ripon, JoAnn Rockman of Flossmoor, IL, and Kathy Humble of Chicago, IL; three grandchildren; and one sister, Nancy Pierce of Homewood, IL; and his former wife, Eleanor. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Shirley.
Funeral Services for Dr. Humble will be held Sunday, January 26, 1992 at 2:00 p.m. at St. Peters Episcopal Church in Ripon, with the Reverend Robert J.C. Brown officiating. Private inurnment will follow at a later date. A memorial in his name has been established for the Ripon Memorial Hospital Lifeline Project.
