Duane K. Billings, 59, of 409 W. Oshkosh St., Ripon, died unexpectedly Thursday afternoon, May 23, 2002, at Theda Clark Regional Medical Center in Neenah.
He was born August 20, 1943, the son of Ray and Lucille (Dumond) Billings in Manistique, Michigan where he graduated from school. Duane had been an Iron Worker at C.D. Smith in Fond du Lac until retiring in 1989, and was a member of Local Union #8. He then worked at Wood-Tech in Berlin for the last 3 years. He had lived in Ripon most of his life, and had attended St. Patrick Catholic Church.
Survivors include his 5 children, Sally (Dan) Schatzke of Ripon and their children, Ryan, Chad & Haley, Stacy (Jeff) Borchardt of Wautoma and their children, Leigh Ann, Devin & Alyssa, Tina (Paul) Gunderson of Redgranite and their daughter, Britany, Tracy (Wayne) Miles of Warrens and their children, Cody, Nicholas & Dakota, and Raymond Billings of Georgia; his mother, Lucille Dumond of Ripon; and brother, Lee Billings of Isabella, Michigan. He was preceded in death by his father and an aunt.
Funeral service for Duane K. Billings will be 6 p.m. on Tuesday, May 28, 2002, at the Butzin-Marchant Funeral Home, Ripon with Rev. Paul L. Holte officiating. Visitation will be Tuesday from 4 p.m. until the time of the service at the funeral home. Inurnment will be in Woodlawn Cemetery, Ripon. A memorial has been established.
