Duane Hook Garlow, age 62, of Ripon, passed away peacefully at home March 18, 1999, after a courageous battle with cancer.
He was born March 23, 1936 in Markesan, the son of the late Henry and Francis (Belover) Garlow. After graduating from Fox Lake High School, he served in the Navy from 1955-59. He later attended MPTI, and lived in Beaver Dam prior to moving to Ripon in 1972. Duane was a mechanic for 33 years at Green Giant, now called Friday Canning. During his active life, he enjoyed hunting, fishing and playing poker machines, hoping to hit the big one.
He is survived by his wife, Loetta Lou Olsen whom he married December 24, 1986; children, Roger (Tammy) Garlow, Judy Berger, Beth (JR) Smith, all of Ripon and Jeff Garlow of Madison; step-children, Ron (Mary) Wehrwein, Carolyn (Larry) Mohlman and Matt (Sue) Wehrwein; brothers and sisters, Lorraine Garlow, Allan Butch Terlaan and Donna Schultz, all of Beaver Dam; grandchildren, Casey, Brooke, Meghan, Ashley, Tyler, Trista, Cody, Hayley, Taylor, Tiffany, Austin, Ina and Audrey. He was preceded in death by his parents and 1 brother, Gerrald Fuzz Garlow.
Visitation will be Monday, March 22, 1999, from 3 until 4:30 PM at
the Butzin-Marchant Funeral Home, followed by a memorial service at 4:30.
The Rev. Gregory Decker will officiate, and inurnment will be in Mackford
Union Prairie Cemetery, Town of Mackford, Green Lake Co.
