Duane "Pooky" August Wittchow

Duane “Pooky” August Wittchow, age 81, of Ripon, passed away Wednesday, October 7, 2015, at Barrett House in Ripon with family by his side.
“Pooky” was born December 16, 1933, in Fond du Lac, WI, the son of August and Dorothy (Paul) Wittchow. He graduated from Rosendale High School. In 1976, Pooky married Rosie Michels in Ripon, WI. He worked for Green Giant in Rosendale as a supervisor in the warehouse for 30 plus years until its closing and then for Speed Queen in Ripon, also in the warehouse, for 12 years until his retirement.
Survivors include his wife, Rosie of Ripon, WI; son Gary (Deb) Wittchow of Oshkosh, WI; daughter, Susan Wittchow also of Oshkosh; step-children, Edward Ballwanz of Princeton, WI, Jane (Bill) Kolberg and LuAnn (Jeff) Packer all of Ripon, WI, and Richard Ballwanz of Waukesha, WI; 6 grandchildren; brother, Eugene (Marion) Wittchow of Ripon, WI; sisters, Marilyn (Bob) Miller of Rosendale, WI, and Shirley (Orville) Batterman of Fond du Lac, WI. Pooky is preceded in death by his parents, August and Dorothy Wittchow; father and mother in-law, Leander and Augusta Michels; brother-in-laws, James Michels, Jerry Kaiser, and Lee Commo and sister-in-law, Delene Michels.
Visitation for “Pooky” will be held on Friday, October 9, 2015, from 4 – 7:00 p.m. at Butzin-Marchant Funeral Home, 515 Mayparty Dr., Ripon, WI 54971 and again on Saturday, October 10, 2015, prior to Funeral Service from 10 – 11:00 a.m. at Grace Evangelical Lutheran Church, 430 W. Griswold St., Ripon, WI 54971.
Funeral Service for Duane “Pooky” August Wittchow will be held Saturday, October 10, 2015, at 11:00 a.m. at Grace Evangelical Lutheran Church in Ripon. Reverend Clay R. Salmela will officiate. Interment will follow at Rosendale Cemetery in the Village of Rosendale. A memorial is being established.
