DuWayne (Duke) Lenz, age 57, of Ripon, WI, died Saturday, February 22, 1997, at his home with his family after fighting renal cell cancer.
He was born January 30, 1940, in Ripon, a son to Irene Lenz of Ripon and the late Lester (Chet) Lenz. He was a Ripon High School graduate and served in the Army Reserves. On June 24, 1961, he married Beverly (Lloyd) Lenz from Berlin.
Duke was happily employed at Speed Queen of Ripon for 39 years. He loved his job as a truck driver and appreciated his Speed Queen friends. He had a strong love for his family, friends and life. He enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren, hunting, being outdoors and helping anyone in need.
Duke is survived by his wife, Beverly Lenz; three children, Troy Lenz of Princeton, Tracie (Jeff) Bethke of Ripon and Terri Lenz of Ripon; mother, Irene Lenz of Ripon; brother, Lyle Lenz of Ripon and two grandsons, Michael Lenz and Trevor Bethke. He was preceded in death by his father, Lester (Chet) Lenz.
Funeral service for DuWayne will be held on Wednesday, February 26, 1997, at 11:00 am at Our Saviours United Church of Christ in Ripon with Reverend James D. Mohr officiating. Following the church service, Prayers of Committal will be held at the Butzin-Marchant Funeral Home. Burial will take place in the spring at Oakwood Cemetery in Berlin.
Friends may call on Tuesday, February 25, 1997, at Butzin-Marchant Funeral Home from 3:00 to 8:00 pm and on Wednesday, February 26, 1997, from 10:00 am until the time of the service.
Duke was deeply loved by his family and friends. He will be greatly missed.
