Dwight B. West, 89, of Port Charlotte, FL, passed away on Tuesday, April 10, 2007 at South Port Square in Port Charlotte.
Dwight was born in Ripon on May 24, 1917 the son of Henry Philander and Alice Louise (Bazeley) West. He grew up in Ripon and graduated from Ripon High School and went on to Ripon College and received his BA from Ripon College. Dwight was a chemist for J.E. Siebel & Sons Company, and worked as a brewing consultant for them for 40 years. On February 23, 1940 he married Eleanor Jane Warhanik, Eleanor passed away on October 31, 2000, and on October 10, 2003 he married Frances Cazier. Dwight was a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Mt. Prospect, IL where he lived for 50+ years, and he moved to Florida for the last 4 years.
Survivors include his wife, Frances Cazier West of Port Charlotte, FL, his children; Barbara J. (Philip) Swanson of Arlington Heights, IL, Neal B. (Nancy) West of Portage, WI, Pamela J. (Richard) Roth of Coatesville, IN, and Ross N. (Lynn) West of La Crosse, WI, along with 12 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren. Dwight was preceded in death by his parents and his wife, Eleanor Jane West.
A Graveside Service for Dwight West will be held on Tuesday, April 17, 2007 at 11:30 am at Hillside Cemetery in Ripon with Dr. Brian Smith officiating. Memorials can be given to Ripon College Alumni Fund in his name.
