Earl Gustav Andersen, age 92, of Parkview Care Center, Ripon, died Wednesday evening, May 14, 2003, at Ripon Medical Center.
He was born August 23, 1910, in Oslo, Norway, the son of Kolbjorn and Helene (Karlsen) Andersen. The family came to the United States in 1913, and made their home in Chicago, IL where Earl graduated from Crane High School. Earl was a Tool and Die Department Foreman at Marsh Industries in Chicago and had worked there for 37 years. On June 27, 1936, he married Esther Marie Olson in Chicago where they made their home prior to moving to Green Lake in 1975. He was a member of Our Saviours United Church of Christ in Ripon and the church choir. Earl was Past President of the Green Lake Senior Center, belonged to the Ripon Senior Center, Ripon Harmony Kings, Harmonica Rascals, and was swimming instructor for seniors at Ripon College. Earls happy attitude and smiling face will be missed by many close friends and relatives.
Survivors include 2 sons, Kenneth Earl Andersen of IL and William Carl (Elizabeth) Andersen of Milwaukee; 4 grandchildren, Kathleen (Michael) Paslaski, Pattie Andersen, Kristin (Pete) Hall, and Stephen (Beth) Andersen; and 3 great-grandchildren, Robert Paslaski, Caroline Paslaski and Malcolm Andersen. He was preceded in death by his wife; son, Thomas; and parents.
Funeral service will be at 12 p.m. on Saturday, May 17, 2003, at Butzin-Marchant Funeral Home, Ripon with Reverend Margaret Richardson Zedan officiating. Visitation will be Saturday from 11 a.m. until the time of the service. Interment will be in Dartford Cemetery, Green Lake. Memorials will be given to Our Saviours United Church of Christ in his name.
