Mrs. Edith Margaret Marquardt, age 83, of Markesan, died June 21, 1995 in Markesan.
She was born July 11, 1911, at home in Green Lake Co., WI, the daughter of the late Herman and Augusta (Schultz) Lenz. She married Elery Marquart on September 24, 1932 at her parents home in Markesan. She was a member of the Markesan Methodist Church, and was a homemaker and gardener. Edie received a plaque for being the longest continued member of the Marquette Homemakers Club for 42 years, and she loved to bowl and play rook.
Edith is survived by her husband, Elery; one daughter, Verlys Marquardt of Markesan; one son, Jon Marquardt and his wife, Ann of Eldorado; sisters, Esther Schultz of Waupun, Margaret Wendlandt and Gladys Kluckman and her husband Dick and one sister-in-law, Sadie Lenz, all of Markesan; along with many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, five sisters, Ella Lenz, Anna Koechel, Dora Schwandt, Irma Fox and Marie Schwock, and two brothers, Marvin and Art Lenz.
Funeral services for the late Edith Marquardt will be 11 A.M. Saturday, June 24, 1995, at the United Methodist Church in Markesan. The Reverend Paul Francis will officiate. Burial will be in Salemville Cemetery, Green Lake Co. The family will receive friends from 10 A.M. until the time of the service at the church.
Memorials contributions will be given to the United Methodist Church in Markesan and the American Diabetes Association.
