Edmund "Eddie" Steeps

Edmund “Eddie” N. Steeps, age 79, of Ripon, passed away unexpectedly early Thursday morning, February 29, 1996 at Ripon Medical Center.
He was born May 17, 1916, in the Town of Nepeuskum, Winnebago County to August and Mary (Kasuboski) Steeps. He married Irene Hoger on November 5, 1938, in Weyauwega. He was first employed at Standard Oil of Rosendale, and later at Midland of Fond du Lac until his retirement in 1981. He and his wife had resided in the Town of Ripon since 1938. Eddie enjoyed being outdoors doing yard work and gardening.
Survivors include his wife, Irene; 2 daughters, Marilyn (Sam) Morales of Lake Worth, FL and Patricia Meilahn of Fond du Lac; and I sister, Eleanore Hoch of Ripon. He is also survived by 6 grandchildren, Denise Perington of Ripon, Diane Smith of Berlin, Becky Horvath of Lake Worth, FL, Brenda Seibel of Whitefish Bay, Jeff Meilahn of Fond du Lac, and Mandy Morales of Lake Worth, FL; 11 great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and 1 infant sister.
The funeral service will be held Saturday, March 2, 1996 at 2 P.M. at the Butzin-Marchant Funeral Home, Ripon with Pastor Carl L. Stubenvoll officiating. Friends may call Saturday from 11 a.m. until the time of the service at the funeral home. Burial will be in the Rosendale Cemetery, Village of Rosendale.
