Edna N. Bartz, age 95, formerly of Rosendale, and a resident of Hilltop Manor, Ripon for the past 2 years, passed away Tuesday, April 8, 2003, at Parkview Care Center where she had been for 2 weeks.
She was born January 20, 1908, in Fond du Lac, the daughter of Lucian and Nettie Close. Edna attended Woodhull Country Grade School. She graduated from Fond du Lac High School and Fond du Lac County Normal School, and taught grade school in Rosendale. On April 20, 1928, she married Elmer Bartz. Edna was a member of Eldorado and Rosendale United Church of Christ.
Survivors include her 3 sons, Jim (Bernice) Bartz of Ripon, Bill (Joyce) Bartz of Pickett and Jerry (Sharon) Bartz of Gainesville, FL; 7 grandchildren; 7 great-grandchildren; 1 brother, Donald Close; and 2 sisters, Lorainne Rabe and Ruth Meier. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; 1 brother; and 2 sisters.
Funeral service for Edna N. Bartz will be at 3 p.m. on Friday, April 11, 2003, at the Rosendale United Church of Christ with Rev. Laura K. Hawkins officiating. Visitation will be Friday 1 hour prior to the church service. Interment will be in the Rosendale Cemetery. A memorial has been established.
