Edna M. Schwandt

Edna Mae Schwandt, age 87, of Ripon, WI, passed away peacefully on April 12, 2024 at Prairie Place in Ripon.

Edna was born in Berlin, WI on August 6, 1936, daughter of Edward and Helen (Lind) Manske. She graduated from Ripon High School. Edna married Clarence Schwandt in Ripon on September 25, 1954. Together they had four children and ran a dairy farm. 

Edna worked at Delmonte in Markesan for 30 years, Rippin’ Good Cookies for 11 years, and the Village Mart of Fairwater for 11 years. She was a member of Our Saviour’s United Church of Christ, the Ladies Guild, the Green Lake Homemakers and was in charge of the card club. She enjoyed going to the casino and never missed an event at Leahys’. She loved to bake and share her recipes. Edna cherished time with her family and looked forward to the cousin’s get-together every month. 

Edna is survived by her children, Ken (Mary) Schwandt of Brandon, WI, Kathy Bazeley of Waupun, WI, Keith (Kathy) Schwandt of Fairwater, WI, and Karla (Paul) Bubolz of Waupun, WI; grandchildren, Paul (Jennifer) Schwandt, Alex Schwandt, Jeremy (Erin) Bazeley, Jason (Jess) Bazeley, Tracy (Matt) Geschke, Eric Schwandt, Kayla Sawyer, Kelsey (Eric) Gonwa, and Cole Bubolz; 13 great-grandchildren; brother, Eddie (Jean) Manske; brother-in-law, Ted Machmueller; and many cousins, nieces, and nephews. 

Edna was preceded in death by her husband, Clarence Schwandt; her parents, Edward and Helen Manske; siblings, Deb (Stuart) Schliepp, Caroline Machmueller, Earl Manske, and Donald Manske; son-in-law, Larry Bazeley; and in-laws, Dee (Lester) Vossekuil and Leroy Schwandt. 

Visitation for Edna will be held on Sunday, April 21, 2024 from 2:00 pm to 5:00 pm at Butzin-Marchant Funeral Home, 515 Mayparty Drive, Ripon, WI 54971, and from 9:00 am to 11:00 am on Monday, April 22, 2024 at Our Saviour’s United Church of Christ, 343 Scott Street in Ripon, WI 54971.

Memorial service will be held on Monday, April 22, 2024 at 11:00 am at Our Saviour’s United Church of Christ, in Ripon, with Rev. Dr. Kevin P. Mundell officiating.
