Edna Lena Wegner, age 95, of Ripon, WI, passed away on Saturday, March 23, 2013, at Fountain View Care Center in Ripon.
Edna was born on June 6, 1917, in Ripon, the daughter of Samuel and Lena (Wachalz) Miller. On May 20, 1937, she was united in marriage to Milton “PeeWee” Wegner in Ripon. Edna was employed with Knitting Works and the Five and Dime store in Ripon. She attended Our Saviour’s United Church of Christ.
Survivors include her daughter, Marlene (Elliot) Piepenburg of Appleton, WI; two grandsons, Todd (Stephanie) Piepenburg of Freedom, WI and Brian Piepenburg of Menasha, WI; two great-grandsons, Jacob and Nicholas Piepenburg of Freedom, WI; two sisters-in-law, Ruth Wegner of Oshkosh, WI and Gladys Obry of Hortonville, WI and many in laws, nieces and nephews. Edna was preceded in death by her parents, husband, eleven brothers, four sisters and many in laws, nieces and nephews.
Visitation for Edna will be held on Tuesday, March 26, 2013, from 12 – 1:00 pm at Butzin-Marchant Funeral Home, 515 Mayparty Dr., Ripon, WI 54971.
Funeral service for Edna will be held on Tuesday, March 26, 2013, at 1:00 pm at Butzin-Marchant Funeral Home in Ripon. Reverend Gary Miller will officiate. Interment will follow at Oak Hill Cemetery in the City of Neenah. A memorial is being established.
The family would like to thank Fountain View Care Center for their loving, tender care they gave Edna for three years. Also thanks to the Heartland Hospice Care nurses for their extra care for Edna.
