Edward Huettner

Edward Michael Huettner, age 78, of N3062 N. Kearley Rd, Markesan, died June 24, 2002 at his home.

He was born October 20, 1923 in Hurley, WI, a son to Anton and Elizabeth
(Gerth) Huettner. He attended school in New London and was a graduate of the
University of Wisconsin-Madison. He served in the U.S. Army from February 1943 until December 1945 in the WWII European Theatre. On April 22, 1948 he married Opa C. Stichtman in New London, WI. Edward moved to Markesan in 1968 where he was employed with the Wisconsin Correctional Institution at Fox Lake as an Industrial Engineer until his retirement. Mr. Huettner was a member of St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Markesan and the parish council member. He was American Legion Chaplin, former member of the Markesan School Board, past president of the Little Green Lake Improvement Association, and former Boy Scout Leader.

Survivors include his wife, Opal C. Huettner of Markesan; daughter, Cathy (Tom) A. Warmington of New Berlin, WI; son, Cary (Julie) M. Huettner of Rochester, MN; and grandchildren, Jennifer Warm ington, Jessica Warm ington, Andrew Huettner, Peter Huettner, Daniel Huettner and Miriam Huettner. He was preceded in death by his parents; 3 brothers; and 1 sister.

Mass of Christian Burial will be Friday, June 28, 2002, at 10:30 a.m. at St.
Joseph’s Catholic Church, Markesan, with Father Richard Lesniak officiating.
Visitation will be Friday from 8:30 a.m. until the time of the Mass at the church.
Interment will be in Wisconsin Veterans Cemetery in King, Farmington Township, WI. A memorial has been established.
