Edward Toll

Edward A. Toll, age 94, of Ripon, WI, passed away on Wednesday, January 10, 1990.
He was born in Fairwater, December 2, 1895, the son of William and Elizabeth (Schrader) Toll. After graduating from Brandon High School he attended Lawrence College, Appleton, and Ripon College from which he graduate in June 1918. On May 9, 1918, he enlisted in the U.S. Navy. Following this service he taught school in Ross, Indiana, and Merrill, Wisconsin.
Mr. Toll then engaged in raising silver fox and mink for a number of years. He served as treasurer of Arcade School District for nineteen years. He was a lifelong member of Our Saviours United Church of Christ, Ripon and was a member of the American Legion, Ripon. He was a 68 year member of Ripon-Green Lake Masonic Lodge No. 95 F & A.M and was also an officer and member of the Order of the Eastern, Ripon.
He is survived by his wife, Mare Kafer Toll; a son, Douglas E. Toll of Frankfurt-Bad Soden, West Germany; three grandchildren, grandson Erich of Bad Soden, Germany, granddaughter Trishna of Strasbourg, France and granddaughter Heidi of Los Angeles; one nephew, Lloyd Toll, Minneapolis and a sister-in-law, Jean Toll, Ripon. Two brothers, Albert and Fred, preceded him in death.
Visitation will be Friday, January 12, 1990, from 4:00 until 8:00 p.m. at the Butzin-Marchant Funeral Home in Ripon, where a Masonic Service will be held at 8:00 p.m.
Funeral Services for Mr. Toll will be Saturday, January 13, 1990, at 11:00 a.m. at Our Saviours United Church of Christ in Ripon. The Reverend James D. Mohr will officiate. Burial will be in the Hillside Cemetery, Ripon. A memorial has been established in his name.
