Edwin Baneck

Edwin R. Baneck, 92, formerly of Hamburg, died February 5, 1995, at Parkview Care Center, Ripon.
He was born June 26, 1902, in the Town of Hamburg, a son of the late John and Sarah (Kriehn) Baneck. He was educated in Hamburg, and on December 8, 1923, he married Emma Wendt. They farmed in the Town of Hamburg prior to retiring when they moved to Merrill. In 1991, they moved to Ripon.
He is survived by 1 son, Melvin(Angeline) Baneck of Ripon; grandchildren, James (Joanne) Baneck of Pickett, Katherine (Gary) Gitzel of Ripon, Judy (Tom) Mueller of Sun Prairie and Sandy (Wayne) Tepe of Wausau; 12 great-grandchildren; 1 great-great-grandson; and 1 daughter-in-law, Lois Becker of Wausau. He is also survived by 4 sisters, Agnes Hardell of Wausau, Ethel Uteck of Merrill, Dorothy Schertz of Chippewa Falls and Alice Block of Hamburg. He was preceded in death by his wife, Emma on August 16, 1994, 1 son, Allen, 1 sister and 3 brothers.
Funeral services will be he1d at 2 P.M. Thursday, February 9, 1995, at St John’s Lutheran Church, Town of Hamburg, where he has been a member of the church. The Rev. Mark Romp will officiate, and interment will be in St John’s Parish Cemetery. Visitation will be Thursday from 11 A.M. until the time of the service at the church. A memorial has been established.
