Edwin Hansen

Edwin August Hansen, age 81, of Ripon, WI, passed away on August 20, 1984, at Mercy Medical Center in Oshkosh, WI.

Edwin was born December 19, 1902, in Fond du Lac, WI, the son of Louis and Alvina (Mattefs) Hansen. He married Hattie Bartow on February 18, 1922, in Waukegan, IL. Edwin worked as a guard at Speed Queen in Ripon and Freight Agent. He was a member of Our Saviour’s United Church of Christ in Ripon, a former council president, member of Church Dartball League, Ushers Club, Greeters Club and the Married Couples Club.

Survivors include his wife, Hattie; two daughters, Erling (Jerry) Bierman of Oshkosh, WI and Bernice (George) Roeschlein of Norridge, IL; one son, Harold of Deerfield, IL; five grandchildren, four great-grandchildren, two brothers, Lee Hansen of Ripon, WI and Roland Hansen of Fond du Lac, WI and two sisters, Gladys Bird and Ruth Fiebig of Fond du Lac, WI. He was preceded in death by one sister and three brothers.

Visitation for Edwin will be held on Wednesday, August 22, 1984, from 3 – 5:00 pm and 7 – 9:00 pm at Butzin-Marchant Funeral Home in Ripon.

Funeral Service for Edwin will be held on Thursday, August 23, 1984, at 11:00 am at Our Saviour’s United Church of Christ with Reverend Harley C.W. Tretow officiating. Interment will follow at Hillside Cemetery in Ripon. A memorial has been established for the church and the Milwaukee Road Railroad.
