Edwin G. Prellwitz, 85, of Ripon, died early Monday morning, November 23, 1998, at Ripon Medical Center.
Edwin was born on March 5, 1913, in Ripon, the son of Albert and Edith (Butler) Prellwitz. He graduated from Ripon High School. On June II, 1936, he married Louise Waltenberry. He was a devoted member of lmmanuel United Methodist Church of Ripon. Edwin worked for the Town of Ripon for 3 years and for Lueck Implement for 3 years. He and his brother Donald then founded the Prellwitz Dairy, which they operated together. They also organized the Ripon Drum and Bugle Corps. After selling the dairy in 1948, Mr. Pretlwitz worked for the City of Ripon for 23 years, retiring in 1975.
Survivors include three sons; Gordon (Ann) Prellwitz of Malone, WI, DuWayne A. (Diane) Prellwitz of Green Lake, and Douglas (Phyllis) Prellwitz of Eldorado; seven grandchildren; four step-grandchildren; four great-grandchildren and six step-great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife Louise on February 20, 1992, his parents and a brother Donald.
Funeral services for Mr. Prellwitz will be held on Wednesday, November 25, 1998, at 11:00 AM at Immanuel United Methodist Church in Ripon with Pastor David Busker officiating. Friends may call on Tuesday, November 24, 1998, from 6:00 to 8:00 PM at the Butzin-Marchant Funeral Home, 515 Mayparty Drive, Ripon, and again on Wednesday from 10:00 AM until the time of service at the church. Burial will be in Garden of the Cross Cemetery in Ripon.
A Memorial has been established in his name.
