Edwin Edward Ratajczak, age 72, of Ripon, WI, died Sunday, January 11, 1998, at his home.
He was born January 7, 19926, in Oshkosh, the son of John and Sophia (Javarwicz) Ratajczak. He attended school in Oshkosh. On June 15, 1974, he married Evelyn Wessel at St. Lukes Evangelical Lutheran Church in Oakfield. Edwin worked in construction in Oshkosh, Berlin and Ripon. He also farmed in Poy Sippi for 10 years. He was a member of Messiah Lutheran Church in Ripon and the Roger Bright Dance Club of Menasha.
Survivors include his wife, Evelyn; and children, Dianne (Doug) Hicks of Kingsford, MI and their children, Fred, Dawn, Laura and Lisa and great-grandchildren, Daniel, Adam and Austin, Linda (Rick) Kelly of Freedom and their children, Tammy (Jon) Brinkman, Tiffany and Tricia and great-grandson, Brady, James (Denise) Ratajczak of Clintonville and their children, Renee, Amy, Darren, Kevin, Jeff and Tyler, Sally (Pete) Sweetalla of Neenah and their children, Heather and Shaun, Nancy (Jim) Kinsella of Niagara and their children, James, Eric, Ashley and Tara and one great-grandson, Deven, Darcy (Emiko) Ratajczak of Antioch, CA and their daughter, Michelle, Lois (Ed) Schroeder of Crown Point, Indiana and their daughter, Amanda, Larry (Patty) Ratajczak of Oshkosh and their children Kyle, Ryan, Jacob and Andrea; and Steve (Patty) Ratajczak of Oshkosh and their children, Rebecca and Bradley. He is further survived by his stepsons, John (Betty) Wessel of Oakfield and their children, Tina and Jon, and Mark (Sandy) Wessel of Berlin and their children, Tanya Sue and Ann Marie and great-grandson, Scott. He was preceded in death by three brothers and three grandchildren.
Funeral service will be Wednesday, January 14, 1998, at 11:30 am at Butzin-Marchant Funeral Home in Ripon with Reverend Bryan Fritsch officiating. Interment will be in Avoca Cemetery in Oakfield.
Visitation will be Tuesday, January 13, 1998, from 4 until 8 pm at the funeral home. At the request of the family, memorial gifts should be given to Messiah Lutheran Church.
