Edythe Schattschneider, age 94, of Rosendale, WI, passed away on Friday, May 3, 2013, at the Lutheran Home in Fond du Lac, WI.
Edythe was born October 24, 1918, in the Town of Nepeuskun, WI, the daughter of Frank and Edna (Zamzow) Zech. She graduated from high school and on September 29, 1939, Edythe married Glenn Schattschneider at Our Saviour’s United Church of Christ in Fond du Lac. She worked side by side with Glenn as a farm wife. Edythe was a member of Peace Lutheran Church in Rosendale and Rebekah Lodge.
Survivors include two daughters, Karen (Milan) Gerber of Brandon, WI and Sharon (Russell) Rasmussen of Fond du Lac, WI; six grandchildren, Brent Snyder of Green Lake, WI, Cindy (Steve) Brodigan of Minnesota, Marcia Rasmussen of Arkansas, Shawn (Nancy) Snyder of New Jersey, Jeff Gerber of Wautoma, WI and Milan (Ashley) Gerber of Mississippi; five great-grandchildren, Adriana, Emma, Benjamin, Erin and Jacob; three sisters, Grace Schattschneider, Ruby Vollbrecht and Vera Wepner all of Ripon, WI and sister-in-law, Joyce Zech of Brandon, WI. Edythe was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Glenn; her brother, David Zech, her son-in-law, Roger Snyder and her niece, Beverly Zech.
Visitation for Edythe will be held on Monday, May 6, 2013, from 4 – 7:00 pm at Butzin-Marchant Funeral Home, 515 Mayparty Dr., Ripon, WI 54971 and again on Tuesday, May 7, 2013, from 1 – 2:00 pm at Peace Lutheran Church, 124 S. Main St., Rosendale, WI 54974.
Funeral service for Edythe will be held on Tuesday, May 7, 2013, at 2:00 pm at Peace Lutheran Church, 124 S. Main St., Rosendale, WI 54974. Reverend Charles R. Thompson will officiate. Interment will follow at Rosendale Cemetery in the Village of Rosendale. A memorial is being established.
