Elaine Heatley

January 25, 1921 — October 5, 2011

Elaine Doris Heatley, age 90, of Ripon, WI, passed away Wednesday, October 5, 2011, at Fountain View Care Center in Ripon with her family by her side.

Elaine was born January 25, 1921, in Rural Ripon, the daughter of Carl and Elsa (Schmeck) Moderow. She graduated from Ripon High School and attended classes at Moraine Park Technical School. On June 15, 1946, she married Truman Heatley at Grace Lutheran Church in Ripon. He preceded her in death on August 21, 1976. Elaine was a homemaker, she received Lay-Chaplaincy Training which prepared her for hospice volunteering which was very important to her. She was active in civic and community affairs, especially her church, Grace Lutheran where she was a member.

Survivors include three sons, Lynn (Donna) Heatley of Pittsford, NY, Jon (Diane) Heatley of Ripon, WI and Gregg (special friend, Amanda) Heatley of Fitchburg, WI; three grandsons, Chase (Laura) of Ripon, WI, Daniel (special friend, Bailey) of Ripon, WI and A.J. of Fitchburg, WI; granddaughter, Lynsey of Jacksonville, FL; one sister, Beverly Nass of Hartford, CT. Elaine was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Truman and infant daughter, Nyla Anne.

Visitation for Elaine Heatley will be held on Saturday, October 8, 2011, from 12 – 2:00 pm at Grace Lutheran Church, 430 Griswold St. Ripon, WI 54971.

Funeral Service for Elaine Heatley will be held on Saturday, October 8, 2011, at 2:00 pm at Grace Lutheran Church in Ripon. Reverend Clay R. Salmela will officiate. Interment will follow at Woodlawn Cemetery in Ripon. A memorial is being established.
