Elaine Priebe

Elaine Marie Priebe, age 83, of Ripon, WI, passed away on Saturday, April 13, 2013, at her home with her family by her side.

Elaine was born on July 20, 1929, in Ripon, the daughter of August Adolph and Martha Helene (Kobernick) Hielke. She was baptized and confirmed in Frieden’s Evangelical Church (Peace Evangelical Lutheran Church) in Green Lake. On September 27, 1947, Elaine married Edwin C. Priebe at Peace Evangelical Lutheran Church where she was a life-long member. Edwin and Elaine worked side by side since 1954 when they started Ed Priebe Sales and Service. Elaine collected toy tractors, enjoyed reading and doing puzzles but most of all she enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Survivors include her husband of 65 years, Edwin Priebe of Ripon, WI; three sons, Gerhard Priebe of North Fond du Lac, WI, Phillip (Lynnette) Priebe of Ripon, WI and Mark (Mary) Priebe of Green Lake, WI; ten grandchildren, Paul (Jess) Priebe of Ripon, WI, Kevin (April) Priebe of Eden, WI, Nathan (Misty) Priebe of Fond du Lac, WI, Beth (Jim) Kiernan of Cincinnati, OH, Shellie (Brian) Hiemstra of Ripon, WI, Jennie (Chris) Jerabek of Oakfield, WI, Ryan (Serena) Priebe of Ripon, WI, Clinton (Cari) Priebe of Willoughby, OH, Katie Priebe of Green Lake, WI and Kurtis Priebe of Green Lake, WI; nineteen great-grandchildren; one brother, Eldon Hielke of Nekoosa, WI; one sister, Ruth Hutchison of Ripon; three sisters-in-law, Esther Sontag of Norfolk, VA, Edna Luedeke of Oshkosh, WI and Margaret Marotz of Sheboygan Falls, WI and many nieces and nephews, too many to mention. Elaine was preceded in death by her parents, daughter-in-law, Jean Priebe; two brothers, Adolph and Edwin and two sisters, Elsie and Laura

Visitation for Elaine will be held on Wednesday, April 17, 2013, from 4 – 8:00 pm at Butzin-Marchant Funeral Home, 515 Mayparty Dr., Ripon, WI 54971 and again on Thursday, April 18, 2013, from 10 – 11:00 am at Peace Evangelical Lutheran Church, 440 Lake St., Green Lake, WI 54941.

Funeral service for Elaine will be held on Thursday, April 18, 2013, at 11:00 am at Peace Evangelical Lutheran Church in Green Lake. Reverend Rodney E. Dietsche will officiate. Interment will follow at Dartford Cemetery in Green Lake.
