Elda H. Bloch, age 88, of Ripon, passed away on Friday, May 29, 2009, at Mercy Medical Center in Oshkosh, WI.
Elda was born on October 22, 1920, in Markesan, WI, the daughter of William and Ida (Weis) Hielke. She graduated from Green Lake County Schools and attended Business College. She retired as an office manager from Purdue University. On July 4, 1940, Elda married Bernhard Bloch in Ripon. She was a member of Messiah Lutheran Church in Ripon.
Survivors include one son, James (Johanne) Bloch of Joseph, IL.; three daughters, Barbara (Wayne) Harmening of Seattle, WA, Leann (Craig) Rutz of Elk Grove, IL, and Kimay (Mark Noble) Bloch of Knoxville, TN; grandchildren, Rachel (Steve) Osthus, Matthew (Jennifer) Bloch, Rebecca (James) Cain, Sarah (Kim) Swearingen, Alan (Audrey) Vandenburgh, Scott (Abeba) Vandenburgh, Lisa Rutz, Lindsey Noble and Ashley Noble; great-grandchildren, Michele and Emily Osthus, Evon, Aidian and Arla Cain, and Yonas Habte and Karin Vandenburgh. Elda was also survived by Margaret Hielke of Ripon, and many nieces, nephews, and cousins. Elda was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and one brother, William, and two sisters, Lillian and Clara.
Visitation for Elda Bloch will be held on Monday, June 1, 2009, from 10:00 am – 11:00 am at Messiah Lutheran Church in Ripon.
Funeral Service for Elda Bloch will be held on Monday, June 1, 2009, at 11:00 am Messiah Lutheran Church in Ripon, with Pastor Bryan Fritsch officiating. Interment will follow at Dartford Cemetery in Green Lake. A memorial has been established in her name.
