Mrs. Elda Leone Leu, 91, of Russell Manor, Ripon, died Sunday, January 29, 1989, at Parkview Nursing Home in Ripon.
She was born July 1, 1897, in Ripon to Gustav and Mary Stindt Hammerling. On October 24, 1919, she married Arthur Leu. He was preceded in death on December 7, 1978.
Mrs. Leu was educated in Ripon. She had lived in Ripon all her life. She was a public school teacher and a housewife. She was a member of Grace Lutheran Church, Ripon and the Ladies Aid of the church and the American Legion Auxiliary.
Survivors include two sons, Robert and his wife, Carol of Marshfield and Howard and his wife, Lillian of Ripon; two daughters, Nina Zepp and her husband, Eugene of Grass Valley, California and Joyce Overfield and her husband Richard of Munsey, Indiana; daughter-in-law, Grace Leu of Ripon; 13 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren; one sister, Dora Ziesmer of Ripon. She was preceded in death by one son, two brothers and three sisters.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 11:00 am at Grace Lutheran Church in Ripon. The Reverend Joel Diemer will officiate and interment will follow in Woodlawn Cemetery in Ripon.
Friends may call from 4 until 8:00 pm on Tuesday at the Butzin-Marchant Funeral Home in Ripon. A memorial has been established.
