Elda Ellie Zimmerman, age 90, of Liberty Street, Ripon passed away Thursday, Oct. 29, 2009 at the Barrett House in Ripon.
Ellie was born on February 25, 1919, in Ripon to William and Lillian (Tetzlaff) Lange. On September 11, 1937 Ellie married Clarence Zimmy Zimmerman. She worked at Admanco as a seamstress for most of her adult life, and still kept in touch with all of the people she worked with. Ellie was active in the Ceresco School PTA, serving as President. She was a lifetime member of the Ripon TOPS and looked forward to their meetings. She was a Den Mother for her sons Cub Scout troop. Ellie was a past officer in the Ripon VFW Womens Auxiliary. She was a faithful, lifetime member of Our Saviours United Church of Christ Church. She served as Sunday School Superintendent of the Kindergarten Dept. at Our Saviours for several years.
Survivors include her son Michael (Vicki) Zimmerman of Newport Beach, CA; her sister Norma Kuhs of Ripon; nephews, Thomas (Julie) Stellmacher of Ripon, Timothy (Judy) Stellmacher of West Bend, Steve (Terri) Stellmacher of Berlin, Richard (Gloria) Kuhs of Laguna Hills, CA; nieces Barbara (Gary) Blasco of Roscoe, IL, and Vicky (Jeff) Halom of Rockton, IL., along with several other nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews and cousins. Ellie was preceded in death by Zimmy on April 28, 1985, her husband of 49 years; her sister and brother-in-law, Ruth and Merwin Muff Stellmacher, brother-in-law Kelsey Kuhs; sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Mildred and Milford Wahoske, sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Marion and Robert Vincenti, and brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Louis and Alice Zimmerman.
Visitation for Ellie will be from 9-11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, November 11, 2009, at Our Saviours United Church of Christ in Ripon.
Funeral services for Elda Zimmerman will be Wednesday, November 11, 2009 at 11:00 a.m. at Our Saviours United Church of Christ with the Reverend Mark R. West officiating. Interment will follow at Woodlawn Cemetery in Ripon. Memorials may be given to Our Saviours United Church of Christ or the Ingalls Field Fund.
The family would like to personally thank Tom, Julie and Jared Stellmacher, Tim and Judy Stellmacher, Sara and Mike Splittgaber, Russ and Sherry Skurr, Carol Kimball, Audrey Conant, Mary Ann Waltenberry and Danny Lee for making Ellies final years easier, there by making it possible for her to live in her own home. Thank you also to the staff at the Barrett House in Ripon for her wonderful care over the past three months. Thank you also to Hospice Hope for their care of Ellie. She had many, many friends through the years in Ripon, and most recently kept in contact with most of them by phone.
