Elizabeth H. Frater, 84, of Weyauwega, died Saturday, May 18, 2002 at Weyauwega Health Care Center.
She was born October 1, 1917, in Ripon, a daughter to William and Vivian (Parker) Schmuhl. She attended school in Ripon. On December 25, 1937, she married Harry Lester Penke and he passed away on January 2, 1977. Elizabeth worked at the Ripon Knitting Works and Miles Kimball in Oshkosh. She was a member of Hope Lutheran Church, Wautoma. She later married Edger N. Frater on May 10, 1985 and they made their home in Weyauwega.
Survivors include her; son, David Penke of New York; daughter, Marie Toepke of Fremont, one granddaughter, Denise (Jake) Chaitkin of IL. She was preceded in death by her parents, both husbands, and son-in-law, Dallas.
Funeral service for Elizabeth H. Frater will be Tuesday, May 21, 2002 at 1:00 p.m. at the Butzin-Marchant Funeral Home, Ripon with the Rev. Rebecca Johnston officiating. Visitation will be Monday, May 20, 2002 from 4-7 p.m. and Tuesday, May 21 from 12:00 p.m. until the time of service at Butzin-Marchant Funeral Home. Interment will be in Nepeuskun Cemetery, Town of Nepeuskun. A memorial has been established.
