Elizabeth Selma Altnau, age 91, of 530 N. Union St, Ripon, passed away Friday, March 26, 2004 at Michalenes, Ripon.
Elizabeth was born September 5, 1912 in Fond du Lac, a daughter of Robert Duffy and Anna Montey. She was educated in the Fond du Lac area and married William Altnau on April 24, 1937. Elizabeth was employed at Giddings and Lewis and Rueping Leather Co while living in Fond du Lac, but was employed in many different jobs during her life including retail sales. She resided in Bradenton, FL before moving to Ripon in 2003. She was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, Bradenton, FL and St. Wenceslaus Catholic Church, Ripon.
Survivors include a granddaughter, Christina Thrash; granddaughter-in-law, Sherri Burnette; great-grandchildren, Joshua (Heather) Burnette, Dylan Thrash, Dalton Thrash and Erica Burnette; step-son, Ronald (Iona) Altnau; step-grandchildren, Steven (Kelly) Altnau, Ronald Jr. (Kerry) Altnau and Julie (Adam) Leisten; step-great-grandchildren, Alyssa, Camryn, Marena, Addison and Ella; nieces and nephew; Linda Fritz, Eugene (Janet) Miller, Carol (Tom) Leu and Harold (Peggy) Miller. She was preceded in death by her parents, step-father, husband, William; daughter, Lois; grandson, Michael; siblings, John, George, Irene and their spouses; and nephews, Richard and Robert.
Services will be held Tuesday, March 30, 2004, at 10:00 a.m., with visitation from 9:30 until the time of service, all at Calvary Cemetery Chapel of Risen Christ Mausoleums, 686 Fond du Lac Avenue, Fond du Lac, WI. Father Robert A. Fictum will officiate. Entombment will be at Calvary Cemetery. Memorials may be directed to St. Wenceslaus Church, 411 E. Fond du Lac St., Ripon 54971.
