Elizabeth “Issie” Mary Ballard, age 91, of Ripon, WI, passed away on Sunday, January 15, 2012, at Fountain View Care Center in Ripon.
Issie was born on October 7, 1920, in Fond du Lac County, the daughter of Steve and Rose (Husocki) Brajdic. On April 26, 1941, she married George W. Ballard in Rosendale. He passed away on October 31, 1986. Issie worked in the shell shop at the old Barlow and Serlig during World War II, manufacturing 20 mm tracer ammunition. She also worked at Advertisers Manufacturing Company for over 17 years. Issie then made rugs out of her home for 20 years. Issie was noted for her poetry that she wrote and published.
Survivors include one son, George (Mary) Ballard of Ripon, WI; special niece, Nancy Conner of Milwaukee, WI and special nephew, Jack Ballard of Ripon, WI and also many other nieces, nephews and dear friends and neighbors and a sister-in-law, Helen Brajdic of Fond du Lac. Issie was preceded in death by her parents, husband, brothers, Elmer and Steve and sisters, Theresa and Rose.
Visitation for Elizabeth Ballard will be held on Tuesday, January 17, 2012, from 11 – 1:00 pm at Butzin-Marchant Funeral Home, 515 Mayparty Dr. Ripon, WI 54971.
Funeral service for Elizabeth Ballard will be held on Tuesday, January 17, 2012, at 1:00 pm at Butzin-Marchant Funeral Home in Ripon. Reverend Donald Deike will officiate. Interment will follow at Woodlawn Cemetery in Ripon. Memorials may be directed to Generations Homecare and Hospice, 10205 Main St. Fond du Lac, WI 54935.
