Elizabeth "Betty" Bumby

Elizabeth “Betty” Ann Bumby, age 68, of Ripon, passed away on Friday, April 30, 2010, at her home with her family by her side.
Betty was born on June 7, 1941, in Ripon, the daughter of Herbert and Irma (Huth) Meinke. She attended Town Line Grade School and graduated from Ripon High School. Betty was a travel agent and owner of Ripon Travel Inc. On January 25, 1980, she married John E. Bumby in Ripon. Betty had the opportunity and enjoyed traveling the world and had a very special second home in Turks & Caicos in the Caribbean. She loved music whether it was playing the piano or singing while leading the church choir. Betty was extremely proud of her family, especially her grandchildren.
Survivors include her son, Douglas (Shirley) Peppler of Ripon, WI and daughter, Deborah (Steven) Erickson of Madison, WI; grandchildren, Shae, Adam, Austin Peppler and Ashley Hinkle, Lindsey and Elizabeth Erickson; sister, Marion (George) Bauer of Fond du Lac, WI; niece, Michelle Reetz. Betty was preceded in death by her parents and husband, John Bumby in 1998.
Visitation for Betty Bumby will be held on Wednesday, May 5, 2010, from 9 – 11:30 am at Our Saviour’s United Church of Christ, 343 Scott St. Ripon, WI 54971.
Funeral Service for Betty Bumby will be held on Wednesday, May 5, 2010, at 11:30 am at Our Saviour’s United Church of Christ in Ripon. Reverend Mark R. West will officiate. Interment will follow at Hillside Cemetery in Ripon. Memorials may be given to Our Saviour’s United Church of Christ, 343 Scott St. Ripon, WI 54971.
