Elizabeth "Betty" Gilmore

Elizabeth J (Betty) Gilmore, age 81, passed away on January 10, 2009, at Mercy Medical Center in Oshkosh, WI, after a courageous battle with cancer.
Elizabeth was born June 13, 1927, on the family farm near Witt, Illinois, daughter of John and Florence Schwartz. In 1949 she married her late husband, William, in Chicago. She lived and worked in Chicago for many years, and then moved to Wisconsin with her family. Elizabeth enjoyed oil painting, making candy, boating, shuffleboard, darts, and especially spending time with her grandchildren. She operated a grocery store for several years. Elizabeth enjoyed family reunions, and she had eleven brothers and sisters: Alma, Francis, Olivia, Freda, Walter, Lucille, Lorene, Leo, Helen, Carl, and Louis.
Survivors include one son, Bill (Kathy); two grandchildren, Michael and Melissa; one brother Louis (Mary), one sister, Lorene (Donald); and many nieces and nephews.
A time of visitation and support will be held from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. at St. Catherine of Siena Catholic Church, 415 E. Fond du Lac St. Ripon, WI.
Mass of Christian Burial for Elizabeth will be held on Friday, January 16, 2009, at 10:30 a.m. at St. Catherine of Siena Catholic Church, Ripon, WI.
A Memorial has been established in Elizabeth’s name.
