Elizabeth (Betty) B. Blodgett, 87, 150 Douglas St., Ripon, passed away Friday evening, January 28, 2005 at Ripon Medical Center.
She was born November 18, 1917, in Maine, a daughter to Henry and Mertyle (Blackwood) Boody, and graduated from Ripon College. Betty married Howard W. Blodgett July 5, 1943. She was an English teacher in the Waupun School System. She was a member of the First Congregational Church UCC of Ripon, Friends of the Ripon Library, Green Lake Music Festival, Ripon College Alumni, Ripon Women’s Club, Ripon Study Club, Flag Wavers and the BZ Club.
Elizabeth is survived by son, Greg (Cheryl) Coburn; son-in-law, Jerry (Sharon) Smith; grandchildren, Christi (Brian) Boyd, Jonathan Smith, Dani (Richard) Moore, Jennifer (Nick) Garlie; 3 great-grandchildren and many close friends. She was preceded in death by parents, husband and daughter Kathy (Blodgett) Smith.
Funeral service for Elizabeth Boody Blodgett will be on Tuesday February 1, 2005 at 2 p.m. at First Congregational Church UCC of Ripon, with Pastor Jack W. Kraaz officiating. Friends may call from 12:30 until the time of service at the church. Interment will be in Garden of the Cross Cemetery, Ripon. Memorials for Betty may be given in her name to the Wisconsin Organ Donor Network or Ripon College.
