Elizabeth Jane Mary Gatzke, 81, of Ripon, passed away Friday, November 11, 2005, at Ripon Medical Center.
Betty was born August 19, 1924, in Merrill, WI, the daughter of William and Margret (Duzinske) Wepner. She was a graduate of Ripon High School. On December 22, 1945, she married Arden Gatzke at the church parsonage in Ripon. Betty worked for Dr. Kurth for 5 years in the office and was a homemaker. She was an active member of Our Saviour’s United Church of Christ.
Survivors include husband, Arden; 2 sons, Daniel (Kay) Gatzke of Oconomowoc and David (Linda) Gatzke of Ripon; 7 grandchildren, Christopher (Leigh) Gatzke of Ripon, Anne Gatzke of Denver, CO, Jennifer (Doug) Schmidt of Ripon, Meghan Gatzke of Pewaukee, WI, Jonathan Gatzke of Ripon, Joseph Ferrari and special friend Kandance Weir of Ripon, and Tracy (Patrick) Cramer of Ripon; 7 great-grandchildren, Jaylen and Riley Gatzke, Taylor and Katya Dudzinski, Keegan Schmidt, and Emily and Matthew Cramer all of Ripon; 4 sisters, Yvonne Reimer of Janesville, WI, Joyce (Russell) Moore of Neenah, WI, Alice (Reid) Decker of Florida and Lois (Marvin) Oskola of Ripon; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents and sister, Mae Cordrey.
Visitation will be Monday, November 14, 2005, from 1-3 p.m. with a Funeral service to follow at 3 p.m. all at the Butzin-Marchant Funeral Home, with Rev. Mark R. West officiating. Private interment will be Tuesday morning at Garden of the Cross Cemetery, Ripon. In lieu of flowers, donations may be given to Our Saviour’s UCC (scholarship fund).
