Elizabeth Rasmussen

Elizabeth “Betty” C. Rasmussen, 91, formerly of 626 Lincoln St., Ripon, died Saturday, March 16, 2002 at the Markesan Resident Home in Markesan.

Betty was born on May 18, 1910 in Madison, the daughter of John Wallace and Louise Frances (Loomis) Christison. On July, 19, 1950 she married Earl Kenneth Rasmussen at their 626 Lincoln St. residence. Betty graduated from Ripon High School in 1927, and graduated from Ripon College in 1931. She owned and operated Betty’s Floral Shop with her husband Earl at their residence, and worked at numerous other flower shops including Flowers by David. She was a member of Federated Church of Green Lake, AAUW (American Association of University Women), Ripon Historical Society, Wisconsin/Upper Michigan Florist Association, and the Oshkosh Earth Science Club.

Survivors include sister-in-law; Mrs Donald (Dorothy) Christison, Appleton. Nephew; Donald (Diane) Christison, Appleton. Cousin; Ralph (Reba) Handwerk, Amelia, Virginia. She is also survived by many friends. She was preceded in death by her husband Earl, parents, her sister Frances, brothers; Donald, Dale, and Dean, sister-in-law, Mrs. Dale (Pearl) Christison, and nephew Ronald Christison.

Visitation will be 1:00-2:00 p.m. on Monday, March 18, 2002 at Butzin-Marchant Funeral Home, Ripon. Services will be at 2:00 p.m. at the funeral home with Rev. Karen Gygax- Rodriguez officiating. Interment will be at Woodlawn Cemetary. Memorials may be directed to Tri-County Animal Shelter and Adoption LTD (Tri-CASA), Hwy 23, Green Lake, WI.
