Ella Bethke

Ella Willemina Bethke, age 99, ended her suffering by entering Heaven on Saturday, April 6, 1991, there she will eternally rest in peace with the Lord. She had been a patient for 15 years at Parkview Nursing Home in Ripon.

She was born in Marquette County on February 5, 1892, the daughter of Fredrick and Bertha (Splitgerber) Weber and was educated in Marquette County, Sunnyview Rural School. She taught Sunday School at Trinity Lutheran Church in Germania.

She was united I marriage to August Herman Bethke on May 12, 1912 in Germania. He preceded her in death on July 6, 1977. She also was preceded in death by a daughter, Mabel.

Mrs. Bethke had lived in Green Lake, Priceton and the past 43 years in Ripon. She was a seamstress, enjoyed gardening and flowers. She was a member of Mt. Zion Lutheran Church of Ripon and it’s Ladies Aid. She is survived by two daughters and sons-in-law; Elva (Melvin) Schultz, Ripon: Erna (Gordon) Dobberke, Neenah: two sons and daughters-in-law, Ardwin (Caroline) Bethke, Ripon and Norbert (Veronica) Bethke, Fond du Lac. She is further survived by seven dear grandchildren: Gene and Roger Bethke, Lu Ann Roberts, Gloria Stellmacher, Mark and Jeffrey Bethke, and Peter Schultz. She is further survived by 12 great-grandchildren.

Family and friends may call at Mt. Zion Lutheran Church on Tuesday, April 9, 1991 from noon until the time of services.

Funeral Services will be held at Mt. Zion Lutheran Church at 2:30 p.m. on Tuesday, April 9, 1991, with the Reverends Elmer Semenske and C.S. Hollerup officiating. Burial will be in the Big Mecan Cemetery in the Town of Mecan, Marquette County. A memorial has been established for the church.
