Ella Minna Dahlke, age 89, of Ripon, WI, died unexpectedly Friday, April 4, 1997, at Ripon Medical Center.
She was born September 22, 1907, in Center House, Town of Green Lake, a daughter to the late Charles and Emma Scheer Dahlke. She attended school in the Ripon area, Fond du Lac and Milwaukee. Ella had been a cosmetologist until her retirement and operated Ella’s Beauty Shop in Ripon from 1935 to 1974. She had also worked for Miss Belle Pickard for a period of 10 years. She was very active in Our Saviour’s United Church of Christ where she was a member, and over the years had participated in teaching Sunday school and Youth Groups, belonged to the Missionary Society, Choir, Altar Society, Evening Guild and Womens Guild. She was Past President and Charter Member of the Ripon Business and Professional Womens Club and Past President of the Ripon Chapter 2272 of American Association Persons. She was a member of the Ripon Historical Society and Friends of the Ripon Public Library. Ella also served as President and Secretary of Area Unit J of the Cosmetologist Association. On of her hobbies was an interest in oil painting, and she loved to give her pictures to her relatives. She was interested in music, violin especially and spent much time practicing the violin.
Survivors include two sisters, Lillian Huth of Ripon and Alice (John) Krystofiak of Zephyrhills, FL; one brother, Walter (Virginia) Dahlke of Ripon; one sister-in-law, Ruth Dahlke of Markesan; eighteen nieces and nephews, and forty-one great-nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by three brothers, William, Lewis and Edward and an infant sister.
Funeral service for Ella Dahlke will be Tuesday, April 8, 1997, at 11 am at Our Saviour’s United Church of Christ in Ripon with Reverend James D. Mohr officiating.
Friends may call Tuesday, from 9:30 am until the time of the service at the church. Burial will be in Green Lake Center Cemetery in the Town of Green Lake. Memorials to the General Fund of Our Saviour’s United Church of Christ.
