Ella V. McCauley

Ella Violet McCauley, age 99, of Ripon, WI entered eternal life in heaven on Wednesday, February 12, 2025 at her home in Russell Manor with her family by her side.

Ella was born in the Town of Washington, Sauk Co., WI on April 14, 1925, daughter of William and Ernestine (Ferster) Froehlich. On July 17, 1948 she married Wilfred McCauley at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Hill Point, WI. Wilfred passed away in 2017. Ella was a dairy farmer all her life and continued to milk cows into her 70’s. She was a devoted member of Messiah Lutheran Church in Ripon. Ella loved watching the birds that visited her feeders, and cherished her time babysitting her granddog and best friend, Barney. Everyday Ella praised her Lord and Savior for the full life she received. Her strong faith was a legacy passed down through generations in her family.

Ella is survived by her sons, Darwin (Wendy) McCauley of Wonewoc, WI and Darrell McCauley of Ripon, WI; a brother, Walter Froehlich of Madison, WI; grandchildren, Tiffany (Chris) Glod of Green Lake, WI, Matthew (Marissa Arveson) McCauley of Ripon, WI, and Katie (Jeremy) Schmidt of New Lisbon, WI; great-grandchildren, Ella, Madilyn, Sawyer, Lexi, Hallie, Hattie, and Henisey; her granddog and best friend, Barney; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Wilfred McCauley; parents, William and Ernestine Froehlich; six brothers, Otto, Gerhardt, Bernhart, Reinhold, Arnold and Leonard Froehlich; and a daughter-in-law, Tammi McCauley.

Visitation for Ella will be held from 9:30 until 11:00 am on Tuesday, February 25, 2025 at Messiah Lutheran Church, 500 Mayparty Dr., Ripon, WI 54971.

Funeral service for Ella will be held at 11:00 am on Tuesday, February 25, 2025 at Messiah Lutheran Church. You may view a livestream of the service at 11:00 am by visiting https://www.facebook.com/MessiahRipon. Interment will take place at St. Paul’s Lutheran Cemetery, Hill Point, WI, at a later date. A memorial is being established in Ella’s name.
