Ella E. Weckwerth, age 89, of Ripon, WI, passed away Monday, December 14, 1992, at Ripon Memorial Hospital.
She was born February 1, 1903, in the Town of Brooklyn, Green Lake County, a daughter to Karl F. and Pauline (Bliefnick) Buelow. She was baptized March 4, 1903, at the First Evangelical Lutheran Church of Ripon and was later confirmed at the church on April 16, 1916. Ella married Leonard C. Weckwerth in her parents home on August 17, 1921. Shortly after their marriage they moved to Milwaukee where she worked various jobs. After Leonards retirement they moved back to Ripon late in 1962, where she has resided since; first at her home on Liberty Street, later for eight years at Willowbrook Apartments and most recently at Parkview Care Center for the past 5 ½ years. Before moving to Parkview, she was active at the Senior Citizens Center and helped at the Willowbrook Apartments meal site. She is a member of Our Saviours United Church of Christ, Ripon.
She is survived by her children, Carl A. Weckwerth and his wife, Bobbie of Milwaukee, Mrs. Arlene R. Gies and her husband, Art of Milwaukee, and Mrs. Dorothy L. Bartz and her husband, Fred of Waupaca; her brother, Frank Buelow; her sister, Mabel Crook, ten grandchildren; and eleven great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband in January of 197, a grandson in September of 1955 and one sister, Alma Stanischin January of 1987.
Funeral Service for Mrs. Weckwerth will be held Thursday, December 17, 1992, at 2:00 p.m. at the Butzin-Marchant Funeral Home in Ripon. The Reverend James D. Mohr will officiate. Interment will follow in Woodlawn Cemetery, Ripon. Friends may call Thursday, from noon until the hour of services at the funeral home.
